The third is not superfluous

Daydream View is the third model of VR glasses from Google. Inside, the design remained cardboard, but on top for better aesthetics and more pleasant contact with the face, it was sheathed with fabric. The previously missing strap and remote control appeared in the kit. But there is still no possibility to adjust the distance between the lenses and the distance from the lenses to the eyes, although this is available in many Chinese plastic equivalents of Google Cardboard.

New platform

Much more global changes have affected the software part. Instead of the old Google Cardboard application, which can be installed on any smartphone, a new one was created - Daydream. For developers of VR games and applications, it provides enhanced features, while for smartphone manufacturers, on the contrary, it sets more stringent requirements.

For the chosen ones

Thanks to this, buyers no longer have to puzzle over the question of whether this or that smartphone is good for virtual reality. Models that meet all the standards (diagonal, resolution, screen refresh rate, processor power) receive a Daydream certificate, and those that are not suitable for something are left with nothing. Before buying Google Daydream View glasses, we strongly advise you to install the application of the same name and check your smartphone for compatibility with it. Only five models have been certified so far: ZTE Axon 7, Google Pixel, Motorola Moto Z, Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and ASUS Zenfon AR. But in the future the list will expand.
