The Highlander brand's one-person tent can be classified as a mid-budget trekking solution—recommended for hiking and biking tours. The model combines a moderate weight (2.1 kg or exactly 2 kg without the included case) and compactness for storage and transport (doesn't take up much space in a hiking backpack). In working condition, the sleeping area measures 255x105 cm on the floor, with maximum width in the shoulder area and narrowing at the feet, but overall it shouldn't be too tight even for larger users.

The Highlander Blackthorn 1+ Gen2 tent is enhanced with a 75 cm long vestibule—serving for various tourist gear. The inner layer is made of mesh material, allowing for use in warm weather without the outer tent: in this scenario, tourists can enjoy stargazing on a clear night. It also features a pair of 6.9 mm fiberglass poles, basic water resistance of textile materials—up to 2000 mm water column for the flysheet, and up to 3000 mm for the ground. The tent floor is fully sewn in for better protection against insects and moisture. Equipment highlights include a mosquito net, taped seams, a vent window, a lantern hook, and a clothesline under the ceiling (for drying clothes).
