Shimano Talica Story #1 (Ease of Casting): When casting with small live bait such as anchovies and sardines, you will need a much lighter spool. Shimano takes the challenge of machining the spool to reduce weight as much as possible while maintaining strength. The method we have devised is to minimize the drag force from the water between the spool and the frame. Anchovies and sardines are very light. Traditionally, experienced anglers casting these light baits will tap the spool while casting to get the spool spinning and keep the bait from flying away.
