High-performance internal M.2 SSD of considerable capacity (512 GB) with PCIe Gen3 x4 interface Designed as a frameless 2280 form factor device. It demonstrates a high degree of compatibility with current models of motherboards equipped with M.2 Socket 3 (M key). It is positioned as a product of the middle price category, intended for use as part of personal computers, compact PCs and HTPC systems. It can be used to complete stationary or mobile workstations that require access time and speed of disk operations. The hardware basis of the M.2 SSD-drive Kingston KC2500 SKC2500M8 / 500G was a performant 8-channel Silicon Motion SM2262NE controller with a 512 MB DDR3 DRAM buffer. Toshiba BiCS4 3D TLC NAND 96-layer flash memory has increased wear resistance. The device supports high-speed SLC w...rite caching and demonstrates impressive read / write speeds of 3500/2500 MB / s. Such characteristics are quite enough for impressively fast loading of the operating system, resource-intensive professional applications and heavy modern games. The guaranteed resource claimed by the manufacturer (300 TB) is enough for a daily recording of 80 GB of information for 10 years.

Model overview based on user reviews
The Kingston KC2500 SSD is highly praised for its excellent speed and low operating temperatures, making it an ideal choice for both laptops and desktops. Users appreciate the 5-year warranty and the inclusion of an Acronis key for easy OS transfer. It performs well in stress tests, maintaining temperatures around 45 degrees, and is noted for its reliable performance even without a heatsink. While some users mention that there are faster options available at a similar price, the KC2500 is still considered a great value for its price, especially for those using PCIe 3.0 systems. The SSD is available in various capacities, with the 2TB version being highlighted for its price/performance ratio. Overall, the Kingston KC2500 is a solid choice for anyone looking for a dependable and fast SSD.

Definitely it was necessary to take, now it is practically not on sale))

Wonderful ssd. I took a year ago in the socket for a promotion of 1500 for the 500GB version. For a year of work in a laptop as the main disk - 7tb of overwriting from a 300tb resource. I don’t know the maximum speeds, since in a PCIe 3.0 x2 laptop, and the speed is cut accordingly, but even the cut speed is sufficient for work and games
5 year warranty, theoretically excellent read/write speed, Acronis dongle for OS transfer from disk to disk
No pizza included :(

There are better options for that price.

No complaints, the temperature in reading mode is like in a room. I haven't seen temperatures above 45 degrees (during a stress test).
Buying for the Lenovo Legion 5 laptop, I was worried about excessively high temperatures - that's why I chose this model. At the same time, for the same price, there's now the Samsung 980 Pro with PCIe 4.0 4x, which is twice as fast and its temperature is only about ten degrees higher (35-40 - reading; 45-50 - writing).

Good system disk

Works quickly, encrypted with BitLocker to avoid repeating the history with Petya A. It maintains speed, has cache. I use it as the main system disk. The temperature was surprising, 48 degrees under average load.

Work on bugs

At the beginning of 2020, Kingston presented a new solid-state drive KC2500, which replaced the rather successful Kingston KS2000 model. The company calls it "work on the bugs" — while maintaining the same volumes, the new product shows the best results in terms of performance and work with the temperature regime.

Rocket ready to take off

Judging by the passport data, Kingston engineers managed to achieve the optimal combination of performance and long service life in the new SSDs, while the compact M.2 2280 form factor saves space for other system components and allows you to take advantage of the PCIe interface. Thanks to the new SMI 2262EN controller and 96-layer 3D TLC NAND memory, the sequential read speed of information reaches 3500 MB / s, the sequential write speed is 2500 MB / s, IOPS for writing 300K, for reading 375K. Such dexterity in handling files is close to the top level, only SSD on the new PCIe 4 bus is faster than the KC2500 (though only on paper) and proven solutions from Samsung. And here there is a small problem, the long-tested 500 GB Samsung 970 EVO can now be bought even cheaper than the KC2500, so we expect that the price will drop a little soon.

Protected data

The manufacturer pays special attention to the use of the drive as part of workstations and even high-performance systems. Therefore, like its predecessor, the KC2500 supports self-encryption and a complete security package for end-to-end data protection using AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption. This allows you to leverage TCG Opal 2.0 security management solutions from Symantec, McAfee, and WinMagic. Additional confidence in data protection is provided by a five-year warranty from the manufacturer.
