Kingston KC3000 is a relatively inexpensive and compact M.2 SSD that has significantly stirred up the solid-state drive market, becoming one of the most accessible SSDs with support for the PCIe fourth-generation system interface. After releasing this model, Kingston found a promising formula for success that combines an affordable price, high operating speeds, and compact dimensions.

Kingston engineers used the well-established Phison E18 chip as the controlling controller, and the main memory array was composed of high-class 176-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory from Micron. To enhance stability and reduce overheating during prolonged use, the memory chips and controller are covered with a neat low-profile heatsink. The KC3000 SKC3000S/512G test sample has an optimal memory capacity for most users of 512 GB, with a maximum specified write speed of 3900 MB/s, and a read speed of up to 7000 MB/s.

This is almost twice as fast as M.2 drives with a PCIe 3.0 interface and over 10 times faster than traditional SSDs with a SATA 3 bus connection. At the same time, the specified IOPS indicators for this model almost reach 1 million operations per second, which is a very impressive result. The guaranteed write resource amounts to 800 TB. The manufacturer provides a 5-year warranty. All this makes the Kingston KC3000 an optimal choice for gaming PCs and consoles that support additional SSD installation. However, for working with 3D graphics and high-resolution video sources, it is not the most optimal option due to the lack of a dedicated buffer.

Topchik for desktop PCs for the role of the system disk for OS and program
31 January 2023
Installed in PC with Z690 Prime board. Praque is wonderful. Dobre scho radiator on the board, more disk warms up kinder. In the middle ten, 50 degrees, but when recording great communications of information, I can go to throttling.
Reading speed, TLC memory, Dramovsky cache.
Warm up kinder, I won’t put everything in the laptop as soon as possible

2 months in use. Mounting the disk to the board was not difficult, I installed win 11 on it, and I also run a few games from it. Well, all programs are installed here too. Windows starts in about 6 seconds, game loading is very fast, the browser flies.
Kingston - reliable Very fast
Didn't notice

good model, like it
12 June 2025
The product is good if the motherboard supports an M.2 PCI 3.0 or 4.0 version slot. However, as my motherboard doesn't have such a slot, I connected it through an adapter "Adapter JEYI SK4 M.2 NVMe M-key SSD to PCIe 3.0 4.0 X4 X8 X16" + heatsink "Thermalright HR-09 2280" (photo attached). The speed is reduced because my motherboard only supports PCIe 3.0.
Faster than a regular SATA SSD 500MB/s.
(difficult to install OS if the motherboard doesn't have an M.2 slot. "but it's possible to install only with a lot of effort”)
