High reading speed. Compatible with MacBook.
It may come with different memory and controllers: Phison PS3111-S11-13 for Micron/Toshiba TLC or Silicon Motion SM2259XT2 for Kioxia QLC.

One of the most affordable and popular SSD drives on the market, which remains a top seller despite being released in 2018. The manufacturer positions it as an affordable and reliable system drive for PCs or laptops, not designed for daily rewrites of 300 – 500 GB of data. Due to its accessible price, it is an inexpensive and much faster alternative to old, bulky HDD drives. It is a 2.5” format and supports connection via SATA 3 bus.

The Kingston A400 SA400S37/960G is assembled from a block of four-bit 3D TLC NAND flash memory, using the affordable Phison PS3111-S11 as the controller. To keep up with the times, in 2020 Kingston engineers equipped the device with a small 32 MB DRAM buffer, helping it maintain speeds at an acceptable level when writing large amounts of data, whether it be game distributions, a collection of favorite 4K movies, work projects in programs like Pro Tools, etc.

To further enhance efficiency, approximately 6% of the drive's total capacity is allocated for SLC cache. The manufacturer states a sequential read and write speed of 500 and 450 MB/s respectively. It is important to note that this is the maximum cap for the SATA3 bus, only M.2 SSD drives with NVMe protocol support can offer higher speeds. The manufacturer declares a guaranteed write endurance of 300 TB, allowing users to rewrite about 150 GB of data daily over a 5-year period.

good model, like it
28 February 2023
I've been using this SSD for over three years. It was in a PC for a year and in a laptop for the last two years. Everything works perfectly. Reading negative reviews surprises me. Yes, defects happen, no one is immune from that. But reasonable people go to the store and exchange the item, instead of immediately rushing to hate.
For your price, maybe, the best you can get

I bought it in Moscow for 2500 tugriks for 240GB for Windows and a couple of games, results: reading 353Mb/s, writing 196Mb/s, this is taking into account that the SSD is dirty with two games, namely Fall 4 and Cyberpunk, naturally the read and write speeds will be like that lower case, nothing surprising. So far I’m happy with everything, three years should be enough, if you’re not happy with the results, it’s better to immediately look towards M2 NVME, well, what you pay for is what you get. I'll continue to drive, I'll add a review, so far the flight is normal.
Relatively fast, perfect for upgrading old bakeries.
