Versatile 32" 4K monitor for work and play

The LG 32UN500 is an affordable 32-inch 4K monitor that LG is positioning as a versatile work or multimedia option. The LG 32UN500 monitor's screen is based on a 10-bit VA matrix (8-bit+FRC) capable of displaying more than a billion colours, thanks to which the monitor can realistically reproduce the nuances and details of the colour spectrum.

High-quality colour reproduction

According to the passport, the monitor covers up to 90% of the colour space (DCI P3) and is fully suitable for photo processing, basic colour correction, etc. Perhaps this is its strongest point. As a gaming monitor, the LG 4K UltraFine 32UN500-W looks more modest. In VA games, the matrix shows a pretty good response speed of 4 ms, and also supports AMD FreeSync and LG Dynamic Action Sync software functions. The first eliminates image gaps in dynamic scenes, the second allows you to minimize image update delays. Despite having Black Stabilizer features, a refresh rate of just 60Hz keeps it from being written into gaming monitors.

Not the best viewing angles

In advertising monitor special emphasis is placed on LG's own development called Wide Colour Enhancer Plus. This thing allows you to get more natural colours when viewed from an angle, but it either does not always work, or it works strangely: during sudden movements, the picture around the edges of the monitor is often slightly smeared, and the white colour becomes red. This is the main and perhaps the only claim to the LG 32UN500.

Support for HDR content

By the standards of inexpensive monitors, the LG 32UN500 leaves a good impression, slightly standing out due to increased brightness (350 cd/m² vs. the standard 300 cd/m²), HDR support, a pair of rather loud and clear built-in speakers, and a set of video cables that not every manufacturer puts. Well, its design is pleasant, although in 2021 you won’t surprise anyone with thin frames and beautiful glossy plastic.
