Versatile 4K monitor with a large and detailed 27-inch screen, support for high dynamic range (HDR) images and a glossy anti-glare coating. In addition to ultra-high resolution, it has a good colour gamut (99% sRGB) and high-quality factory calibration, which allows you to use the monitor for professional graphics processing. It is positioned as a product of the upper part of the middle price category, designed to handle various digital multimedia content.
Suitable for working in CAD / CAE packages. With a relatively fast display and AMD FreeSync technology, the LG 27UL850 will not disappoint PC gamers either. The screen is based on a proprietary IPS matrix with a colour bit depth of 10 bits / channel (8-bit + FRC), which is capable of displaying more than a billion colours and subtle colour shades. Thanks to its high resolution, it provides excellent image detail (163 ppi) and creates a smooth picture without signs of pixelation. The monitor complies with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard, which allows you to display HDR content with a peak brightness of up to 400 cd/m2. Removable stand allows you to adjust the height, angle of the screen and quickly change its orientation from landscape to portrait. To connect to a signal source, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 digital ports are provided.
4K and excellent colour reproduction
Monitor LG 27UL850 left a very pleasant impression after meeting him. Although, someone can say that it's not honest 10 bits, but "8 bits + dithering". Without looking into the monitor passport, but evaluating the quality of the picture, it is difficult to do this by eye. The monitor demonstrates high-quality colour reproduction (coverage of 99% sRGB) and pleasantly surprises with intelligent factory calibration. In general, this combination of diagonal, colour reproduction and 4K resolution makes it a serious candidate for professional work with graphic content. At the same time, the LG 27UL850 is a fairly versatile monitor. With a fast IPS panel, FreeSync and HDR400 support, it keeps up with the times and allows you to play comfortably. Although, with such a price tag, I would like to see a higher refresh rate, and not the base 60 Hz.
Comfortable leg with adjustable height, tilt and angle of rotation
We also liked the build quality, comfortable leg with flexible adjustment of tilt, height and angle of rotation (portrait mode is supported), monitor design and, of course, the matrix itself. Also worth noting is not quite the usual software that comes with the monitor and True Colour Pro. The Dual Controller programme is responsible for setting up the monitor to connect to two computers at the same time. In turn, True Colour Pro software is designed to simplify hardware calibration and supports all the most popular calibrators. A built-in USB hub with a USB-C port will not be superfluous.
Built-in speakers
And flaws are not even flaws, but little things with which a great product would be almost perfect. Built-in speakers are nothing at all. But this is hardly critical, especially if we are talking about a monitor for working with visual content. Well, I would like the lower frame to be thinner so that all 4 sides of the frame look harmonious. You see, it’s even embarrassing to say it out loud, so we move on to this monitor with a medal.
