Transition to ARM
Surface Laptop 7 generation laptops mark Microsoft's first entry into the ARM device market. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 15 inch Snapdragon [ZHP-00004] model is built on the 12-core ARM Snapdragon X Elite processor, which is comparable in performance to the Core i7-1255U and Apple M3 chips. This is more than sufficient for handling office and academic tasks, business applications, and working with resource-intensive software.
The ARM architecture also offers increased efficiency in AI tasks and close integration with the Copilot assistant. The device is highly energy-efficient: a 66 Wh battery provides up to 16 hours of web surfing and up to 22 hours of video playback.
Quality Materials and Display
The laptop is equipped with a 15-inch PixelSense Flow touchscreen with Gorilla Glass v5 protection and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The 3:2 aspect ratio (resolution of 2496×1664 pixels) makes the display particularly convenient for working with texts, spreadsheets, code, and browsing. Additional advantages include automatic brightness adjustment via ambient light sensor and support for Dolby Vision technology.
The body is made of aluminum, characterized by durability, high-quality assembly, compactness (thickness - 18 mm), and moderate weight - 1.66 kg.
Modern Interfaces and More
The device runs on the functional Windows 11 Pro operating system. Secure login is provided by a facial recognition scanner. For wireless communication, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are available. Wired connections are implemented through 3 USB ports, including two USB4 with a bandwidth of 20 Gbps. Although HDMI is absent, the ability to connect two external displays is implemented through Alternate Mode support in the Type-C ports.
The model is considered the junior among the 15-inch versions: it features 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD - which by modern standards can be considered a limitation. It is also worth considering that the Snapdragon platform does not ensure full compatibility with old devices and applications on the x86 architecture.
Nevertheless, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 15 inch Snapdragon is a well-thought-out business laptop with a concise design, excellent autonomy, and advanced AI integration.
