A dual-channel charger with a wide range of useful functions, movable negative contacts and an intelligent control system with a clear LED display that shows current information about the charge level for each channel in real time. It is positioned as a mid-price product aimed at a wide range of users who need a reliable and productive charger with a high degree of compatibility.
The Nitecore UM2 charger can work with a wide range of batteries, including fully charging Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-Ion and LiFePO4 batteries. There is also a special charging mode for Li-Ion IMR batteries with low internal resistance. The charger has an improved microprocessor control system, which makes it possible to independently charge 2 batteries with different sizes (AA, AAA, AAAA, C, D, from 10340 to 26650) and different capacities.
Manual setting of charging current and voltage is provided (maximum current up to 1.5 A per channel). Three different charging modes are supported, which are set automatically depending on the battery type: CC, CV, dV/dt. Powered via a microUSB connector from an external network charger in 2A/5V or 1.5A/12V modes (with support for the Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging function by the network charger). There is built-in protection against overcharging, incorrect polarity and short circuit.

Good device with functionality. It does its job, and the batteries don’t heat up as much as with the previous charger. It even revived some batteries that I had already given up on. One thing that disappointed me was the size. Sellers should indicate this somewhere in bold large font! It's twice as big as expected because it's also designed for IMR batteries, which are twice the size of regular AA batteries. I, for instance, didn’t know about them and assumed that the photos showed regular large AA batteries. So still, when you pick up the charger, it feels like you're 5 years old and small :). I took a photo to make it clear. I didn't return it, but for trips, I'll have to buy another charger because it's pointless to carry this giant around.
