Good device with functionality. It does its job, and the batteries don’t heat up as much as with the previous charger. It even revived some batteries that I had already given up on. One thing that disappointed me was the size. Sellers should indicate this somewhere in bold large font! It's twice as big as expected because it's also designed for IMR batteries, which are twice the size of regular AA batteries. I, for instance, didn’t know about them and assumed that the photos showed regular large AA batteries. So still, when you pick up the charger, it feels like you're 5 years old and small :). I took a photo to make it clear. I didn't return it, but for trips, I'll have to buy another charger because it's pointless to carry this giant around. Broad compatibility
Each charger slot is equipped with a sliding negative contact and is designed to fit batteries up to 80 mm long. The spacing between the slots is optimized to easily accommodate even large cells. The model is compatible with all popular battery types — Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-Ion, and LiFePO4 — and also features a special mode for charging IMR batteries with low internal resistance.
Fast charging
The device automatically detects the type of connected batteries and selects suitable charging parameters, while the user can set them manually if desired. All information for each slot is shown on a large info display located at the top of the housing. When using a power adapter that supports the Quick Charge 2.0 protocol, the maximum current reaches 1500 mA for two channels or 750 mA when charging all four cells simultaneously.
Enhanced safety
The charger independently calculates the duration of the charging cycle for each battery, limiting it to a maximum of 20 hours to prevent overheating. The safety system includes protection against overcharge, short circuits, and reverse polarity. The Nitecore UM4 housing is made of durable, flame-retardant plastic, which enhances the device’s overall reliability and durability.
