Short description:

The Nokia 5700 smartphone is included in the XpressMusic line by the manufacturer. Nevertheless, the musical component is only one of its advantages. Thanks to the original swivel body, the 5700 is very convenient to use as a camera. Usually the model is compared with the structurally similar Nokia 3250, which it was actually released to replace. In general, this is definitely a youth phone. Which, if desired, older progressive people can also use.

Technical features:
  • The body of the phone is perhaps its most attractive feature. The bottom part with number keys can be rotated 270 degrees on the vertical axis. On the reverse side are three media player control keys - two for rewind and stop / pause. Also, these keys in camera mode can be used to shoot and use the zoom function.
  • It is very convenient to use the camera. The lens is located at the end of the lower part of the body. Together with its rotation, the corresponding mode is automatically turned on - standby, player, shooting. In each position, the body is fixed rigidly, without backlash.
  • Display. Used TFT LCD-version 2.2" diagonally with a standard resolution for smartphones and good phones QVGA (240x320 pixels). Better yet, the display is capable of reproducing up to 16.7 million shades of colours.
  • In the sun, the information remains quite readable. To optimize the display of data as much as possible, there is a light sensor just above the screen. Depending on the external conditions, the brightness and contrast of the display are adjusted automatically.
  • Networks of different generations are supported - both the now popular GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS - that is, the 3G standard. This option is primarily common in Europe. For video conferencing, the body and, accordingly, the lens can be rotated to the user `face` - there is no need to install a second camera.
  • Operating system - Symbian OS version 9.2. The smartphone was created on the S60 platform of the third version, Feature Pack 1. Most of Nokia's flagship models are now created on this platform.
  • At the heart of the hardware of the 5700 is a 370 MHz processor. It is more performant than what is used with the outdated analogue Nokia 3250 (220 MHz), the performance is correspondingly higher. In general, when running applications, delays are almost imperceptible.
  • The user has access to 35 MB of built-in memory. If it were not for the possibility of increasing, this would be too small. Fortunately, there is a microSD card slot on the side panel. Cards up to 2 GB are supported, a 1 GB card is included. It is clear that for storing music and media files in general - photographs, videos, etc., this is quite enough if the user's requests are not excessive.
  • Several connection options can be used for data import/export and PC synchronization. Firstly, it is miniUSB, secondly, an infrared port and, of course, Bluetooth version 2.0. The latter, which is quite natural for a phone from the XpressMusic series, supports stereo listening through wireless headsets and headphones. In addition, files of any format can be imported to a smartphone - it can be used as a file storage.
  • As it should be with a music smartphone, the quality of music playback is on top. Not only major music formats are played, but also MPEG-4 and 3GP videos. You can optionally download DivX support, etc.
Camera:
  • The camera in Nokia 5700 is two megapixel. In fact, apart from its location, it is no different from cameras of a similar class in smartphones and phones. There is a small LED flash.
  • The maximum image resolution is 1600x1200 pixels, the minimum is 320x240. You can choose the quality, image resolution, shooting mode (night, self-timer, burst). The screen orientation when shooting is horizontal, which is also very good. You can also choose the white balance mode and simple special effects like sepia and negative.
  • As already mentioned, the swivel body is very convenient for shooting. When you turn to the operating mode of the camera, the stop / pause and rewind keys `fall` under your fingers.
  • Video recording is available in H.263 and MPEG-4 formats. The maximum resolution is 320x240 pixels, the shooting speed is 15 fps.
