Technical features:
- The body of the phone is made of two elements. In fact, this is not an ordinary slider. Such cases were used before, but only Nokia guessed to use tempered glass in this form factor. Interesting - the case itself is made of stainless steel, but the material does not look very similar to steel due to a special coating. The lower part of the slider, on the contrary, is loud and hard, however, as soon as the backlight of the keyboard lights up, it is clear that this is glass. Perhaps that is why the manufacturer decided to call the model Luna. White illumination through the glass coating looks very `cosmic`. This is exactly what an expensive solid phone should look like.
- The body build is top notch. It would be strange if it were otherwise. There are no backlashes characteristic of less prestigious models anywhere, the case opens easily, there is an auto-finishing mechanism.
- The display has a standard QVGA resolution for good phones - 240x320 pixels. For a communicator the size of a small laptop, this would not be enough, but with the Nokia 8600 Luna looks just fine. On a 2`` display, grain-pixels are completely invisible during operation. Even in bright daylight, it remains quite readable. In addition, up to 16.7 million shades of colours are displayed - the images look really realistic.
- Built-in memory at Luna - 128 megabytes. The use of memory cards is not provided. For some, this may not be a very pleasant surprise, but a fashion phone does not have to be equipped with a whole suitcase of functions. It has to look great and be expensive, and the Nokia 8600 Luna does the best job of it.
- There is no Wi-Fi in the phone, just as there is no special need for it for most owners. But there is Bluetooth version 2.0, which supports numerous profiles, including A2DP, which allows, for example, listening to music through a wireless stereo headset. In addition, there is a microUSB connector - most tech experts say that this is the future. It is compact and functional. Through this connector, you can connect a headset and transfer data. By the way, the phone can serve as a USB storage device (USB Mass Storage is supported).
- A small pleasant moment - the camera is not visible in the standby mode. Her lens is protected by a closed case.
- The camera in the Nokia 8600 Luna uses a 2 megapixel CMOS sensor. There is no need to talk about quality comparable to the characteristics of SLR cameras, but this is still a phone, not a camera. The quality is quite decent for shooting amateur photos at the sites of certain events.
- The maximum and minimum resolution differ ten times - from 1600x1200 pixels to 160x120 (very well suited for creating `wallpaper` on the phone display).
- Video recording can be done with a resolution of 176x144 or 128x96 pixels. As with single shots, the quality is average. Or even a little lower. The recording is in 3GP format.
- The music player supports major formats such as MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, etc. There is a five-band equalizer with custom settings. It's nice that the sound quality is quite adequate for the price of the phone.
- The radio receiver remembers less than 20 stations, which will have to be searched manually. If you want to listen to the radio, you will have to use a wired headset, which must be used instead of an antenna.
