All inclusive
The successor to OPPO Reno4 Lite received a minimum of changes both externally and internally and took a place in the middle segment, where the competition is oh so great. Does he get along with her? Of course, there are models with better specifications and a lower price tag, but the OPPO smartphone does not graze the back. First of all, this is a fairly light device with a body thickness of 7.8 mm and a weight of 172 g. But the manufacturer managed to equip it with everything you need: a USB-C port for charging, a 3-in-1 slot for two SIM cards and a microSD memory card, as well as 3.5 mm headphone jack. They didn’t skimp on the packaging of the device, putting in the box a transparent case, a charger (and a fast one with a power of 30 W), and even headphones, which is a rarity these days. In addition, a protective film is immediately pasted on the screen. There are two gradient colours to choose from — purple and black.
All the same Mediatek Helio P95
Unfortunately, little has changed in terms of “hardware”, and OPPO Reno5 Lite, like its predecessor, still uses the Mediatek Helio P95 processor. This is a chip for mid-range devices, which does not show the best results in terms of performance. In everyday tasks, the interface works quite smoothly, for which it is worth saying “thank you” to the ColorOS shell, but for modern games, of course, it is better to look for a model with a more powerful platform. But the amount of memory is enough — 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in, plus the aforementioned support for memory cards. Also, the strength of the smartphone is battery life, which is responsible for the battery capacity of 4310 mAh. One battery charge lasts for one and a half to two days, after which VOOC 4.0 30W fast charging will come to the rescue. There is a mode of ultra-economical power consumption, in which only 5% of the charge is enough for calls for more than 1 hour, and advanced night charging, which does not allow overcharging and extends battery life.
Camera modes
Smartphone cameras, in general, correspond to the average level. Ahead is a 32 MP front camera, for which a round cutout in the display is intended, and at the back there is a main camera with four modules: a 48 MP sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and two additional 2 MP sensors for macro and portrait shots. There are problems with detailing, but the camera, first of all, is interesting for its modes. AI Colour portrait video mode turns the background black and white to highlight the person in the frame with bright colours, monochrome video allows you to select one colour from the palette and emphasize it, and the function of recording video from two angles shows what is happening in front of the front and rear cameras at the same time . In addition, there is a dynamic bokeh mode and a Night Flare portrait mode for shots.
What else
The equipment of the model also includes an NFC chip, an under-screen fingerprint scanner, a single speaker (unfortunately, not stereo), a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with a small “chin”. The refresh rate is standard — 60 Hz, although, of course, I would like 90 Hz, which some competitors have with the same price tag. But DC Dimming is supported to reduce flicker at low brightness. To sum up, OPPO Reno5 Lite is a good mid-ranger, more suitable for young people who will appreciate the gradient colours, good battery life, fast charging and camera modes for photos and videos for social networks.
