The sound flows freely, without strain, without swallowing quiet sounds, and there are no complaints about the width and height of the soundstage either. Thus, the crossover is of high quality, with no components that deteriorate sound (as in 85% of speakers on the market).
The HF - soft dome, similar to silk. No complaints, they work without irritation, as they should. With good dispersion.
And the only complaint is with the LF driver. It is made from polypropylene with a characteristic unnatural coloration, resulting in a leaner and less natural sound compared to paper-Kevlar-fiberglass. In general, the characteristic sound of polypropylene - it's quite unpleasant. Even more unpleasant is the lack of a central cap, which would have enhanced mids with its bulge; instead, there's just a flat surface, making the midrange sound recessed.
The port is chosen large, in accordance with American tradition - be prepared that the bass and mid-bass will hit hard as if turned up to +10dB. This, combined with issues in the midrange and coloration, turns the sound of these speakers into that of a boombox.
Somewhere on forums, I recently read in an archive that Polk Audio doesn't sound like Hi-Fi, but like a mediocre boombox, a music center, hammering with excessive bass and nothing else.
I confirm. The new Polk Audio lineup remains the same - with an unimpressive boombox sound that is impossible to enjoy.
The character of the sound is not warm, even cold, but rather neutral, slightly warmer than metal speakers.
