How to choose the right SSDChoosing an SSD with the required speed and good reliability for home, work and gaming
Model overview based on user reviews
The Samsung 850 PRO SSD is highly praised for its exceptional performance and reliability. Users appreciate its high-speed file reading, which significantly enhances system and software operations, with operating systems loading in under 10 seconds and applications like Photoshop running smoothly. The SSD is noted for its durability, with an estimated lifespan of around 10 years. However, the main drawback is its high cost, which can be a barrier for some, especially for larger capacity models. Despite this, the overall feedback is positive, with users recommending it for those seeking a fast and reliable storage solution for laptops or computers. The included utility for system transfer is a bonus, although some prefer a fresh system installation.

good model, I liked it.

I can recommend the disk to people who want to use it in a laptop or computer as the only one. If you do not litter the space with unnecessary files, then there will be more than enough space. I just threw out my HDD, which was noisy like an infection and began to crumble. Old managed to move with some problems. The system became very fast, but there is nothing to say about the programs.
The advantage is very much. If you take a disk for work, then the purchase will be justified. The high speed of reading files of 4 kb allows the system and other programs to work quickly. The operating system loads no more than 10 seconds, and the software flies. For example, Photoshop needs check 5, which is nice. The browser opens in less than a second and they slow down with a dozen running tabs. If you don't see much gain, then it's most likely a weak processor, and it will have to be upgraded. The disk can be put instead of the HDD, or in the drive pocket. If the CD reader is not needed, then feel free to throw it away. Do not forget that you will need a special frame, in this case. On good hardware, the start of the operating system takes 7-8 seconds. From sleep mode - 2 seconds, but this does not really mean anything. Separately, I note the durability of the disk. Approximately estimated, it turned out that he will live with me for about 10 years. More is not required.
The main problem, of course, is the price. If I had not come across a discounted version with a dead package, then, probably, $ 250, I would have regretted for the drive.
great model, love it

An SSD is definitely worth the money, though the price tag could be lower. The drive is very fast and durable. If you dig around online, you’ll find very few negative reviews, because it really works without a hitch. I don’t regret choosing Samsung, and I recommend it to you too. Don’t complain about the capacity: if it’s for the OS, 128 GB is more than enough. You can store files on an HDD. The drive is a great fit for a laptop, but you’ll have to put it in place of the optical drive if there’s no suitable slot. With a desktop, things are much simpler. The only minor hassle is mounting the drive.
I was pleased with how easy it was to install—no need for a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter. The drive mounts easily with just a couple of screws and stays put. I really liked the bundled utility app. With it you can monitor lots of parameters. Using the SW I quickly updated the firmware. A special section shows the drive’s health, i.e., its lifespan. The program also lets you optimize the OS. The claimed speed held up—I measured it with a couple of benchmarks. Still, those dry numbers don’t really convey how it feels. What you do notice right away is that the system boots much faster, and apps load quicker.
The price is a bit inflated because of marketing. Though that’s typical for all products from Korean brands.
use Samsung MZ-7KE128BW month or more

Great performance! High-quality build. According to the manufacturer, it is very reliable. I hope that's the case. I've only been using it for a week, but the impressions are very positive. The package includes a utility to transfer the old system. However, I decided that since I'm getting a new drive, it's better to install the system anew.
Very high cost :( Even for the simplest 128 GB model. I got that one, even though I initially thought about a larger capacity. But I realized I just couldn't afford it :(
use Samsung 850 PRO week i recommend it should buy

Scarce goods

The fastest consumer SSD is the Samsung 950 Pro, but it's hard to find one for sale right now. The fact is that Samsung faced a shortage, which is paradoxical, of its own flash memory. The 950 Pro uses the latest third generation Samsung 3D V-NAND MLC memory with 48 transistor layers. Samsung has not yet been able to produce such complex semiconductor products in large quantities. As a result, demand for the flagship Samsung 950 Pro exceeds supply.

Interim Acting

Looking for an alternative, check out the Samsung 850 Pro with 2nd generation 3D memory. It is produced in sufficient quantities: both TLC, which is used in the Samsung Evo series SSDs, and MLC for Pro models. Moreover, a two-bit MLC-memory can withstand three times more rewriting cycles than a three-bit TLC.

no catch

The Samsung 850 Pro is designed as a classic 2.5-inch drive, unlike the 950 Pro model with an M.2 NVMe form factor. The SATA interface, of course, limits the read speed to 550 MB / s, but the MLC memory remains equally fast when writing even large files (stable 520 MB / s).

Classic is always in fashion

The NVMe interface theoretically would allow the drive to overclock even faster, but in fact, after a few minutes of active load, it would still slow down to the SATA level due to overheating of the controller. So it's not a big loss. Due to the high cost, we can only recommend the Samsung 850 Pro to avid gamers and users of resource-intensive professional software who require consistently high speed and increased durability from an SSD.
