It's no secret that OLED TVs rule the arena in the high-end TV panel arena. As close as possible to them in terms of picture quality and black display depth, the Samsung QE-55QN90A model from the Neo QLED league.
Mini LED backlight
The 4K TV display is framed by thin frames, and an anti-reflective coating is used as the outer “wrapper” of the canvas. The screen is illuminated by a newly minted Mini LED backlight system with smaller LEDs. The glow of individual pixels in the panel is not regulated, however, in terms of the number of local dimming zones, it will give odds to any other LED backlight system. The Samsung QE-55QN90A screen allows you to more accurately control the dark elements of the broadcast image by almost completely turning off the corresponding backlight zones.
Full HDR
Image processing in the model runs the processor Neo Quantum Processor 4K. It "pulls" materials from HD-format and TV broadcasts to ultra-high resolution. Also on the TV screen, you can fully enjoy HDR content — the peak brightness of the panel in HDR display mode reaches 1800 cd / m². But for some reason, the TV does not support Dolby Vision technology. Console gamers will appreciate the ability to output images from a game console via the HDMI 2.1 port in 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels) at 120 fps. When a console is detected, the TV panel automatically switches to low latency ALLM mode, and the smoothness of the gameplay on its screen is enhanced by the variable refresh rate VRR.
"Smart" technologies
The Samsung QE-55QN90A smart shell is based on the home-grown Tizen operating system, which is easy to use and allows you to organize access to resources on the Internet, popular online cinemas, and IPTV broadcasting services. Viewer interaction with the "smart" subsystem simplifies the squad of voice assistants Bixby, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. And the model is also equipped with a practical remote control with a built-in solar battery on the "back". The decisive argument in favor of the model is acoustics according to scheme 4.2.2. It relies on the OTS+ sound tracking system to work and it seems that the sounds come from exactly the right area on the TV screen.
