A stereo lavalier microphone designed for highly detailed audio recording. Unlike most lavalier models, which are monophonic, this device is equipped with two omnidirectional capsules. This configuration lets you capture a spacious soundstage, which is useful for interviews, vlogging, or reporting where it’s important to convey not only speech but also the surrounding acoustic ambience.

The omnidirectional pattern of the capsules makes it easier to place the mic on clothing, since it picks up sound equally from all directions. One practical design detail is a 360° rotating clip, giving you flexibility in how you mount it: you can secure it horizontally on a tie or vertically on a jacket lapel. The Sony ECM-LV1 lavalier microphone connects via a standard 3.5 mm mini-jack and works with a wide range of devices, including cameras, voice recorders, and computers. Power is supplied via plug-in power (no batteries required), meaning the mic draws energy directly from the device it’s connected to. Included in the box are a windscreen for outdoor noise reduction and a pouch for storage.
