Bright, but not because yellow
The FatMax GR100R pistol is a prominent representative of Stanley products. Moreover, it is “bright” not only because of the yellow body, but due to the combination of qualities and characteristics. At a very reasonable price, the device has a high productivity (25 g / min), quickly heats up the glue (the tool is ready to use in a minute after switching on) and has a couple of features that are not always found in even more expensive networked glue guns.
Everything's under control
One of these useful features is the ability to work in two temperature modes. One of them (190 °C) is needed for ordinary tasks, and the low temperature mode allows you to glue delicate materials like thin fabrics. The temperature control of the gun is very accurate. The glue from the nozzle always comes out exactly in the consistency that is necessary for work. The device is equipped with a clear LED temperature display: a red light means that the glue has not yet been heated, and a green one that the tool is ready to work. The self-off function is also very useful (if the tool is not used for 30 minutes, it turns off the power on its own).
Of course, there are some disadvantages as well. These, for example, include a fairly large weight — 830 grams (other Stanley pistols weigh much less). And the leak protection system is not very effective (it often happens that the glue spontaneously leaks from the nozzle).
A pistol for those who just need a good tool
Prices for Stanley FatMax GR100R are 2-3 times less than the cost of professional models manufactured under the Bosch and Metabo brands. Plus, a large set of rods in the kit allows you to save a little more. But this gun has good quality and decent characteristics. Therefore, does it make sense to overpay for products of a “promoted” brand if you just need a reliable and efficient glue gun for non-stop work in a small workshop?
