I have been using this hard drive for over 2 months, and here's what I want to say. Firstly, it's really noisy, there are hard drives that are 3 times quieter, but they lag behind it in speed by 2 times, so you have to sacrifice either speed or silence. In the end, it doesn't make noise constantly, but periodically, I'd say about 50% of the time, taking breaks for silence. Secondly, it doesn't overheat, operates at +29-35℃ even in +35℃ heat. Thirdly, its operating speed is at the highest level, truly unmatched for the price. And fourthly, it inexplicably "pauses" for 3-5 seconds periodically like my 7-year-old WD Green, even though it's only 2 months old. Packaging - to each their own. 7200 - fast, the speed will be noticeable on large files. 128M - twice as much as competitors. IMHO - the best disk for its price for a file archive, but not for RAID. You can't set it up in a RAID array... it's a pity. The warranty could have been 5 years... This drive is not for industrial systems... use Toshiba HDWE140EZSTA month or more |
