The IC T1 High Table lamp in black is part of an innovative series that includes table lamps, floor lamps, wall lights and pendant lights, all stubbornly sticking to the rock-solid DNA that characterises the whole bunch. The simple and lightweight design makes the lights fit into many styles ATTENTION! If you choose a light source that is clear/transparent, you should expect some shadows in the opal glass of the shade. If you want to avoid shadows, you should buy a matt light bulb that does not cause shadows in the lampshade. Michael Anastassiades himself formulates the inspiration for the series as follows: "I came across an online video clip of a contact juggler, Tony Duncan. He was spinning a set of balls, moving them around on his arms and on the edge of his fingers. When, mesmerised by the magic of his skill, I suddenly saw the balls lie perfectly still, I wanted to capture that exact moment! And so it was that I came across some old photographs of Paul Cinquevalli, caught in the art of contact juggling. This was my starting point. The initials IC come from the codes the British police use to define the perceived ethnicity of the person they stop on the street when reporting back to the station. IC1 means white person or Northern European type. IC2 means Mediterranean European/Spanish speaking, IC3 indicates an African/Afro-Caribbean person and so on, so this is a playful story to define the different designs."
