The IC Chrome stands for elegant and simple design. The centrepiece of the light is the round glass sphere, which balances on the thin black rod and provides a striking contrast to the light. Michael Anastassiades describes the inspiration for this lighting series as follows: "I stumbled across an online video clip featuring a juggler, Tony Duncan. He was juggling several balls, moving them over his arms to his fingertips. As I was completely mesmerised by the magic of his skill, I suddenly saw the balls come to a complete standstill, and it was precisely this moment that I wanted to capture in my design! And then I stumbled across old photographs by Paul Cinquevalli, who had captured the art of contact juggling. That was my starting point. The initials IC come from the code used by the English police to determine the ethnicity of the person they stop on the street in their report back to the station. IC1 means white or Northern European person type. IC2 means southern European/Spanish-speaking person, IC3 stands for an African/Afro-Caribbean person, and so on. So that's the playful story that defined the different designs. The IC Chrome is perfect for the hallway, where a lot of light is needed, or in the kitchen.
