RAID 1E

— specific combination of RAID 0 and RAID 1 (see relevant paragraphs). Consists of at least 3 disks, in which each piece of information is copied simultaneously to two disks, and these disks are interleaved: for example, the first fragment is copied to the first and second disks, the second — to the second and third, the third — to the third and first, and etc. This format of operation gives higher performance than RAID 1, while the array remains healthy even if one drive fails.
