The most popular type of such products are classic "construction" gloves on a knitted or cotton basis with a polymer coating (usually PVC or nitrile) on the working side or on the entire outer surface. They are very inexpensive, and the level of protection is sufficient for most relatively simple tasks. In addition, the additional coating improves the reliability of holding, including on slippery, oily and other uncomfortable surfaces in this sense. But it is impossible to work with harmful liquids and powders in such gloves, for this there is another kind — insulating gloves, entirely made of rubber, latex or other similar material. Similar materials are used in gloves for electricians, but such products are much thicker to provide a sufficient degree of insulation. Therefore, you can work with electricity not in any gloves, but only in those that were originally intended for this.

Welding gloves are made of thick non-combustible fabric that provides good thermal insulation and can easily withstand sparks and drops of molten metal.

To work with various tools and mechanisms, specialized gloves are also produced. Usually they are made of rather thick, soft and "breathable" material; additional linings for damping vibrations can also be provided in the design.

Most modern protective gloves are just gloves, full 5 fingers. However, occasionally there are also mittens, where only the thumb is made separate.
