Laboratory balances with density measurement
Density measurement
— possibility of using scales to measure the density of the substance of the weighed object, or the density of the liquid. For such measurements, a hook is provided at the bottom of the balance, which is usually hidden by a special plug when not in use. When measuring the density of a solid body, it is placed on a platform suspended from a hook, then the weight of the load is determined first in air, then in a liquid with a known density. When measuring the density of a liquid, a body with a known volume is immersed in this liquid, and the result is also calculated from the difference in the weight of this body in air and in liquid. However, if the density mode is supported by the balance, the user does not need to perform any calculations: it is enough to determine the weight in air and in liquid, then enter the density of the liquid or the volume of the float, and the balance will automatically display the final value. It should be kept in mind that a set of additional equipment may be required for density measurements.density measurement | clear | Save List |
