The stand allows you to raise the display above the scale platform; such an arrangement in some situations is more convenient than the display on the body, under the platform. Note that most models with a stand belong to the “heavy” weight category and have a measurement limit of the order of several kilograms — it is for such devices that the display on the stand is considered optimal.
