Class A car amplifiers

 

— a type of analogue amplifier in which the power input is constant and the corresponding current flows through the circuits even when there is no signal at the output. The main advantage of class A is the minimum distortion in the signal and, accordingly, high sound quality. This allows, at a relatively low cost, to create models up to the Hi-Fi class, inclusive. Among the shortcomings, one can note a very low efficiency (which in fact is expressed in a corresponding low rated power), large dimensions and significant heat generation during operation (and during idle it is even higher than during operation).
