— similar to laser printers, LED printers use a light-sensitive drum and powdered toner for printing: the toner is applied to separate sections of the drum and transferred from there to paper. The main difference is that instead of a laser, a number of LEDs are used to "mark" the drum, which somewhat reduces the overall cost of the device. Otherwise, such printers are completely similar to laser ones: they are mainly used for black and white printing and in this format provide high quality at a low cost per print.
