— modification of the 4-cartridge design (see the relevant paragraph), which provides for 2 separate black cartridges — with pigment and water-based ink. The first is used for b/w printing, the second for colour printing, as one of the base colours of the CMYK scheme. This scheme of work allows you to somewhat improve the quality of colour reproduction; in addition, it optimizes ink consumption, allowing you to print black and white documents even if the black cartridge in the "colour" block is over (and vice versa, work with colour printing even if there is no ink in the b/w cartridge).
