The performance of such solutions is noticeably higher than that of the built-in ones; and due to the fact that the task of processing graphics is removed from the main processor and "RAM", the overall speed of the entire system also increases (some video cards can even "help" the computer with free resources). At the same time, in many cases, such graphics are combined with built-in graphics and work like hybrid — that is, dedicated module is turned on only when necessary, with an increase in graphics load.
