— an audio file standard developed as a successor to MP3. Uses lossy compression, yet delivers significantly better sound quality and less loss than MP3 for the same file sizes. It is well suited for storing files with a low bitrate, which is why it is often used in voice recorders and online broadcasting, but in general it is rather uncommon.
