MC type turntables
prices on 3 models— moving coil (MC) pickups are noticeably more expensive than MMs and can require quite a bit of tuning to operate. On the other hand, they more accurately convey the smallest nuances of sound. Thus, MC cartridges are installed mainly in mid-range and top-class players. Note that some high-end pickups of this type have an output level comparable to MM and can be used with appropriate phono stages.
