Battery powered

— the presence of battery power, usually, indicates the possibility of using the modem as a standalone device, without a wired connection to a computer or laptop (although such a connection may be provided for service tasks — for example, charging the battery). This feature is found in Wi-Fi modems (see "Type"). In fact, it allows you to use the device as a mobile Wi-Fi router — for example, to work on the road, as an addition to a tablet that does not have a built-in 3G module. But in classic modems (see "Type"), it simply does not make sense to provide battery power.
