In the early 2020s, the Taiwanese manufacturer Asus announced an interesting collaboration with Studio Khara, which owns the rights to the Evangelion franchise. The manufacturer’s idea is to release a pack of motherboards, video cards, cooling systems and power supplies from which anyone can build a PC in the style of their favorite anime. In the case of liquid cooling systems, the design is inspired by the classic Asuka lines and EVA-02 armor.
An unusual element for ROG Evangelion drops is a water pump with an LCD display built into it. The user can display useful system information such as processor temperature, reproduce RGB lighting effects, or loop a funny GIF that will look unique in an open case. Such things are far from new for elite life support systems, but in this case the display is designed in the style of the Nerv command center, and the dropsy comes with a pack of animated GIFs of Asuka and EVA-02.
Otherwise, the ROG EVA life-support systems have something in common with the dropsy systems from the ROG series. To cool the processor, water blocks with a copper base and a built-in Asetek pump are used, as well as two- and three-section aluminium radiators equipped with several fans manufactured by Asus or Noctua. The fans support PWM control to adjust the rotation speed and semi-passive cooling mode. All kits are immediately ready for assembly and do not require the purchase of additional parts or similar dances with a tambourine. The manufacturer guarantees full compatibility with all current platforms, including AMD AM4 and AM5, as well as Intel LGA 1200 and 1700.
