— in terms of general functionality, laptop microphones are similar to computer microphones. They have a rather narrow frequency range and a relatively low quality of sound transmission — more is not required for voice communication over the network, moreover, high quality would increase the volume of transmitted data. And the distinguishing features of models for this purpose are their small size and design, thanks to which the microphone is attached to the laptop itself when connected (the classic version is a capsule on a leg ending with a 3.5 mm mini-Jack connector). There are exceptions that require a free surface for placement — however, their size is also very small, and the installation requirements are much more modest than with full-size computer microphones.
