Microphones of this class usually use a 3.5 mm mini-Jack connector for connection, while there are no wires in the design, and the device is attached directly to the voice recorder body during operation due to the mentioned connector. The need for additional equipment may arise not only when using professional voice recorders that are not equipped with their own microphones: in some situations, an external microphone is noticeably more effective than an internal one.
