Short circuit

— automated short circuit protection system — which can occur, for example, due to an insulation breakdown in the mains wire of a connected electrical appliance, due to which the cores of this wire come into direct contact, creating a circuit with almost zero resistance. The main danger of short circuits is a sharp increase in current strength, which can lead to various troubles — from filter failure to fire. In order to prevent this, systems are used that turn off the filter in the event of a described situation. At the same time, unlike fuses (see the relevant paragraph), such systems are reusable.
