Although this console is similar in name to the original 3DS XL (and even the screen sizes are the same — 4.88 "and 4.18"), it is much closer in terms of characteristics to the "regular" New 3DS, released in the same 2014. Of these characteristics, it is worth noting, first of all, support for 3D graphics (the "calling card" of the whole family), additional controls (including a second analogue joystick), NFC support, in addition to traditional Wi-Fi, 1 GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot. Quite an interesting variation on the theme of the original PlayStation 3. On the one hand, the new console has lost a memory card slot and half of the USB ports (Slim has 2 of them). On the other hand, the volume of the built-in storage has increased to 120 GB (in the minimum configuration), and power consumption has decreased by 30% with the same hardware basis: 8-core processor with 3.2 GB, 256 MB of RAM and a Blu-ray drive. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, integration with the PlayStation Network and even the installation of additional software from the PlayStation Store.

A portable game console, in fact, a modification of the advanced 3DS model, created with the expectation of simplification and corresponding reduction in price. The simplification affected primarily 3D capabilities — none of the 2DS screens are capable of reproducing 3D (although the camera for creating three-dimensional images has not disappeared). Another difference is the clumsy body. The rest of the characteristics of the device have not changed much: two displays with the same dimensions (3.53 "and 3.02"), a Wi-Fi module, an accelerometer with a gyroscope, flash-based memory (2 GB) plus a card slot. Having replaced the original Wii, this model not only continued the traditions of the series, but also introduced several new original solutions. So, the design of the controller actually blurs the line between desktop and portable consoles: it is actually a separate portable console with a microphone, camera and its own 6.2" touch screen, where, if necessary, you can switch the gameplay from an external screen. At the same time the console is compatible with the games and all the accessories of its predecessor.

Another variation on the PSP theme, this time from 2009. This model immediately catches the eye due to the non-standard, within the line, case, made in the slider form factor. For the first time among the models of the family, in addition to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth support appeared, but there is no UMD drive, the console only works with memory cards. The hardware is traditional — a 333 MHz processor and 64 MB of RAM, but the screen has become somewhat smaller — 3.8 ". Traditionally, integration with the PlayStation 3 and PS Network support are provided.

Although this console is not the most advanced on the market today, it still has a very impressive set of features, both basic and advanced.
