In fact, these models also have a power cable — however, it is connected to the mount, not the dash cam itself. This is especially convenient if the dash cam needs to be frequently removed and reinstalled — for example, if the car is regularly left in an unsecured parking lot where there is a risk of theft from the cabin.

The cable is usually connected to the mount using a quick-connect and disconnect connector — in case the cable needs to be removed from the cabin without removing the mount. Many models use a standard connector like miniUSB or microUSB, which allows for the use of an alternative power cable if necessary (for example, if the original cable is lost or damaged). However, for complete assurance, it doesn't hurt to clarify these details separately.
