— paper with a special glossy finish delivers exceptionally high colour reproduction — shades are more vibrant than matte finishes and midtones are softer. Therefore, it is glossy paper that is considered by many to be the best choice for printing photos — even at home, you can get a professional-quality image on it (although, of course, the matter is not limited to this application). On the other hand, such paper also has certain disadvantages. So, pigment inks are not suitable for printing on it; the glossy surface is easily scratched and covered with fingerprints; and in bright light, glare appears on it, which, with prolonged consideration, can be tiring for the eyes. And the cost of such paper is much higher than that of matte paper.
