Threshold tone

— this function consists in the fact that when the device is operating, the speaker or headphones constantly reproduce a low, monochromatic sound. This sound indicates that the metal detector is turned on; it can also be used as an additional means of signaling – in many models, the threshold tone changes when the mineralization of the soil changes or when metal objects are detected, which for one reason or another do not trigger the main alarm (for example, when the level of response to the search signal is weak).
