Pinpointers
Pinpointer
— outwardly, pinpointers are noticeably different from classic metal detectors: they are small (about 40-50 cm long) elongated devices without pronounced coils, resembling wands, flashlights or spatulas. Such devices are known to many primarily as equipment for police officers and security services at various checkpoints, in transport, etc. Indeed, almost all inspection models (see "Intended use") are exactly pinpointers. However, in addition to this, devices for ground search are also produced. The name of this type of devices is due to the fact that they have high accuracy and are intended for "point" search over a small area and range, when the approximate location of the desired object is known. With the screening application, everything is quite clear: with the help of a pinpointer, you can find an object on which the frame “worked”, or even arrange an express inspection without having to take off your clothes and take everything out of your pockets. As for the ground search, with the help of a pinpointer it is convenient to clarify the position of the find found by the main metal detector. At the same time, the convenience lies not only in high accuracy, but also in the fact that with a pinpointer you can probe and even dig up the ground a little, without dirtying your hands.
