This slot combines the features of a classic slot and a Phillips cross (PH). It looks like a PH cross, one of the “beams” of which has an increased length and covers the entire diameter of the head, from edge to edge. Such fasteners are produced mainly under the PlusMinus brand and are used mainly in electrical engineering; it can be worked quite effectively with both a flat and a cross (PH) head, but special combined tools still do the best job. The working part of the PH / SL screwdriver is a Phillips cross-shaped nozzle, which in the upper part (closer to the handle) is supplemented with a “crossbar” for a long transverse slot; this shape optimally matches the shape of the slot and gives the most tight and reliable contact. However, with other fasteners, such tools are practically not applicable (with the exception of PZ / SL slots, which have a similar narrow specialization), and therefore they are rare.
