Construction staplers for driving staples

 

— a U-shaped or semicircular fastener made of thin wire, which, when hammered, enters the material with two legs at once. The staple width is several millimetres (in some sizes — 10 mm or more), which in some situations makes such parts more preferable than "spot" fasteners such as nails or pins (see the relevant paragraph).
