— this category includes all vacuum cleaners with a vertical layout — both upright models themselves and units of the “upright with handheld” type.The second type is described in detail in the corresponding help item. As for upright vacuums in general, they are not very convenient when cleaning hard-to-reach places (like the space under sofas or beds), but they do a good job with vast open spaces. As a result, such units are popular, in particular, in offices and large houses. However, their power and performance are generally lower than those of conventional models (see the relevant paragraph), although there are exceptions. At the same time, upright vacuum cleaners are much more convenient to store: the unit standing in a corner or against a wall takes up a minimum of space. In addition, we note that it is technically easy to implement a "portable" mode in such a device. Therefore, models of the "upright with handheld type are much more common than purely upright ones.
