Vacuum cleaners with HEPA filter
HEPA filter (fine cleaning)
— a filter (or several filters) that provides fine purification of the air passing through the vacuum cleaner.Modern HEPA filters can trap the smallest particles — down to airborne bacteria. The specific efficiency of such filters can be different, it is estimated by the ability to retain contaminants with a size of 0.1 – 0.3 microns. Based on this, HEPA elements are divided into classes. Here are the options that are relevant for modern vacuum cleaners:
— HEPA 10 — detains not less than 85% of the mentioned particles; — HEPA 11 – at least 95% of such particles;
— HEPA 12 – not less than 99.5%;
— HEPA 13 – not less than 99.95%;
— HEPA 14 – not less than 99.995%.
For ease of selection, vacuum cleaners with the most efficient filters — class 13 and 14 – are also placed in a separate selection point.
Note that for all their advanced properties, such filters are by no means always really necessary in fact. For example, washing vacuum cleaners (see "Product type") in the wet cleaning mode perfectly cope with pollution and without HEPA elements. And industrial units are mostly designed for "rough" cleaning, which does not require thorough filtration. So it makes sense to specifically look for a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter if high-quality air purification is of fundamental importance to you, and it is impossible to achieve it in another way.
