Vacuum cleaners with electric turbobrush
Electric turbobrush
— a kind of turbobrushes in which the moving part is driven not by airflow but by a built-in electric motor. The general features of turbobrushes are described in detail in the relevant paragraph (we briefly recall that nozzles with this function are very convenient for cleaning wool and long hair). As for this variety, its main advantage over conventional turbobrushes is higher efficiency due to two points at once. Firstly, when using an electric nozzle, the suction power of the vacuum cleaner goes entirely to useful work (pulling in debris); part of this power does not need to be spent on rotating the roller. Secondly, the speed of rotation of the electric turbo brush does not depend on the airflow. And the torque of the electric motor can be quite high. The downside of these advantages is the complexity and high cost of the nozzles themselves, as well as the need to use special tubes and hoses with them, supplemented by wiring to power the electric motor. In addition, we note that electric turbobrushes are quite popular in cordless vacuum cleaners - and in such cases, the use of such a nozzle reduces battery life.
