LAN

— the most popular interface for wired connection to computer networks today; is the standard for "locals", and is also often used by Internet service providers. The presence of this input, usually, indicates that the receiver supports network functions (although it can also be used for purely service purposes — for example, firmware updates). Connecting via LAN is less convenient than via Wi-Fi due to the presence of a wire; however, in some cases — for example, in the absence of a wireless router or the load on the Wi-Fi channel due to the operation of other devices — it can be very useful.
