The CATEYE brand bike light is a mid-budget accessory for everyday rides. The model features an LED with a maximum luminous flux of 400 lm and a proprietary OptiCube lens, which aims to provide a wide beam with improved side visibility. Users are offered 4 operating modes — low and high brightness (200 and 400 lm, respectively), flashing, and Daytime HyperConstant. The latter combines constant illumination with simultaneous flashing and is recommended for daytime use (to increase the cyclist's visibility to oncoming traffic participants).

The CATEYE AMPP400 bike light supports memory of the last settings and convenient control with single and double button presses. The model is powered by a 2200 mAh battery, which should last from 2 to 6 hours in the main modes and up to 60 hours with flashes. When the charge level is below 20%, a red light indicator turns on, and the subsequent recharging cycle is done via Micro-USB. Notably, it features basic waterproofing of the plastic case (IPX4 rating) and the presence of a proprietary FlexTight bracket with a flexible strap and the ability to easily remove the light from the handlebar.
