I was worried about how my ten-year-old i7-2600k would get along with this hot little number, but everything turned out great. i7-2600k + RX 6600 XT, with SSD and DDR3 1866 MHz.
If you don't plan to play at 4K resolution, i7 processors from 2011-14 together with this card will handle any modern game perfectly.

Here’s what I got:
- Deus Ex Mankind Divided (2016): Ultra - 67 average FPS.
- Hitman 2 (2018): Ultra - 58 average FPS, High - strangely only 54, Medium - 95.
- Metro Exodus (without RTX, 2019): Ultra - 61 average FPS.
- Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition (RTX, 2021): High+ (some settings lowered from Ultra to High to crank RTX to the max) 46 average FPS.
- Detroit Become Human (2019): Ultra - 46 average FPS, High - 58. The polygons are off the charts, the faces in Detroit are the most realistic in gaming that I've seen.
- Cyberpunk 2077 (2020): Ultra (without RTX) - 52 average FPS, Ultra (with RTX on, on Psycho) 26 average FPS. The rays really bog down the game, the graphics are thick enough to eat with a spoon. High (RTX on, on Medium) 49 average FPS, perfectly playable.

Today, I don't notice the difference between RTX and non-RTX 95% of the gaming time. This technology still has a long way to go. But by 2023 ray tracing will be improved, and playing AAA games without RTX will become noticeably less pleasant.
Very happy with the purchase. It’s a shame that card prices are skyrocketing again; I hope they come back down to earth.
